Arne Schmitz defends title at German Open

GermanOpen2016finalHamburg’s own Arne Schmitz successfully defended his singles title at the 35th German Open 2016.  In a re-match of the 2015 final, Arne defeated Oliver Bertels in a tight and entertaining match 15-7, 5-15, 11-8 to claim his second title at the German Open. Lara Ludwig defeated Renate Hartmann in the ladies final. Together Bertels and Schmitz also defended their doubles title by defeating Edwin Schipper and Pascal Matla (Netherlands) 15-7, 15-6.
