On this day: 10 years ago the Worlds in Ireland started

On this day 10 years ago, on August 1 2008, the opening ceremony of the 2008 IRF World Racquetball Championships took place in Kingscourt, Ireland. This was (is) only the second time the Worlds were held in Europe, after 1988 in Hamburg, Germany.  27 countries from around the world competed in the event.

We would like thank everyone who made the 2008 World Championships possible, in front or behind the curtain. We would also like to thank all athletes who competed in the 2008 World Championships in Ireland. Thanks to everyone who made this a unique event.

Many things have happened since the Worlds in Ireland, some good ones, some not so good ones. After 10 years it might be the right time to reflect on things and to work together on the challenges that we have and for a better future of our great sport.
